I chose this picture, because it made the story of Hamlet seem more interesting.  It seemed interesting because it is a cartoon picture, and I LOVE cartoons!!!  So when I found this picture, i thought it was the prefect way to describe Hamlet for me.

Although my family does not believe in ghosts…. I sure do! I’ve had some experiences myself.

I would like to share these encounters with you.

I was born in the summer of 1991, and my grandmother died 2 years later. My grandfather still lived in the same house she died in. Around 5 years later he remarried and built a new house right beside the old one.

Well, i would go play in the old one all the time…. by myself….and one day i walked in the old house and i saw her old rocking chair rocking, well i was fearless when i was little… so i walked over to the rocking chair and stopped it, as soon as I let go it started rocking again, my love for paranormal activity kicked in as i watched it rocking, i spoke to it figuring it was my grandmother. I said to it, “Memaw… That scares me, will you please stop rocking?” It immediately stopped, and never rocked again.

After that encounter I believed in the paranormal ever since.

I always hear stories about Savannah, Georgia the most so i consider it to be one of the most haunted places. I believe so many people are fascinated in the paranormal, because every siting of a ghost has a story to tell and people want to be able to understand those stories.

Assignment 6

Well, here goes….

In Wizard of Oz, Dorthy lived with her parents in which she thought she didn’t want to live there anymore! When a huge tornado came through, and it took Dorthy to a far away place hints “where not in kansas anymore todo.” She follows the yellow brick road and meets a few friends along the way…

The wicked witch of the west stands for  the railroad industry back in the 1890’s, and the good witch of the east stands for the banks.  Which, if you notice in the movie when the house falls on the wicked witch of the west, her shoes are a ruby color, because they don’t use gold anymore, they use silver (I thought that was really cool.)

Dorthy meets the “Scarecrow, ” and he stands for the farmers back in the 1800’s, they were the populist party, and they got out of debt by making more silver coinage. unfortunately, the farmers didn’t understand producing more silver  coinage would reduce the value (Dorthy eventually losing her shoes). Then she meets the “Tin Man, ” and he represents the factory workers of the north which the farmers thought were stupid for working in factories for long hours and for so little pay, becoming factory machines themselves and losing their human hearts. Last, but not least, Dorthy meets the “Cowardly lion, ” he represents the Wall street investors because of the poor economic climate of the time. Also, Dorthy’s little dog “todo, ” stood for the teetotaler, or prohibitionists of the time.

When all 4 of them finally get to “the green city, ” which represents Washington, and its delusion of green money, they realizes that they didn’t even need all the stuff they wished for at all, because they had those things all along.

Assignment 5

Self-Image in the Media

You always watch TMZ,  Access, or all those shows bashing every star because maybe they gain some weight or walk on the beach the wrong way…..

I don’t believe there is any good media. They try to catch you doing something wrong all the time.

On billboards, commericals, buses, and magazines they try and tell you what the perfect body is, but is that really the “perfect” body?  Or the perfect spouse, job, and life.

To everyone on the planet I know, a huge house with a white picket fence, a dog, and 2 children is the perfect family, with the dad making a billion dollars so that mom can stay home with the kids.

But really the advertizers abuse the consumer, so that they are dependent on their products, and believe it or not you see all these images of women everyday, actually 400-600 times a day! If your not 90 pounds, your too fat for THIS world! As someone told me not too long ago, a young girl wanted to model, and she was a size 5 (i would LOVE to be a size 5), was told she could work as a plus size model!! What is that?!

As a matter of fact, girls get a false image at a young age from their barbie dolls…. thinking that they need to look like that. Check out my Link…. “barbie girl” below

This is my first time using the blogging thing. I am really excited about using the blog! I’m not exaclty sure how to use this, but I’m sure once i get started i will enjoy doing the blog everyday! : )
