Pride and Prejudice
In the movie, material possession were very important. They looked down on people if they did not have the same things, or they were thought to be a “lower” class. In the movie, love was a big deal to, well to get married, not nessisarily love.
A major theme is the importance of where and how you are effects young people and their morality. Social status and wealth are not always advantages. The failure of Mr. and Mrs. Bennett as parents is because of Lydia’s lack of morals, but Darcy had been taught to be dicplined and courteous, but also proud and overbearing. Kitty, rescued from Lydia’s bad influence and spending more time with her older sisters after they marry, does alot better than before.
